Our Roots

Pico do Fogo traces its origins back to the early 20th century when the vibrant neighborhoods of Portela and Bangaeira were established within the volcanic crater. Operating under the guidance of the Associação dos Agricultores de Chã, the village has thrived as the exclusive grape-growing region in Cape Verde, producing exceptional wines.

Established in the early 1900s, Pico do Fogo, nestled within the captivating volcano crater, has become synonymous with fine grape-growing and exceptional wine production on the archipelago.
